Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Ardara last night.

The incident, which occurred on the town’s main street at around 10pm, resulted in a man in his 20s being hospitalised.

He was removed from the scene to Letterkenny University Hospital to be treated for what Gardaí described as non-life-threatening injuries.

They are appealing for any witnesses to this assault to come forward.

“Any road users and pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were on the Main Street (N56) in Ardara between 10pm and 10.30pm on Saturday 29th July, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí,” a garda spokesperson said.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Glenties Garda station on 074 955 1080, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
