Mona McSharry scooped gold for Ireland in the European U23 swimming championships in Dublin.
The Sligo native, who swims with Ballyshannon Marlins, took gold in the final of the 50m breaststroke on 30.37 seconds.
The opening evening of the Championships saw three golds for Ireland. Daniel Wiffen and Ellen Walshe also won finals on Friday evening at the National Aquatic Centre.
McSharry will also take on the 100m breaststroke this Saturday and the 200m breaststroke on Sunday.
