Gardaí are advising there will be some traffic disruption in Letterkenny this weekend due to a number of events.

There will be some planned road closures during the Letterkenny Festival and the inaugural Letterkenny Pride Parade.

The Letterkenny Festival opens on Friday night at 7:30pm with the Gig Rig at McGettigan’s Hotel. A Soap Box Derby has also been organised for the Port Road for Sunday at 2pm, starting at The Grill Car Park. This will be followed by music on the Gig Rig at Sister Sara’s at 5pm

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Letterkenny Pride starts with family fun and entertainment at An Grianan Theatre from 2:30pm. The Pride Parade starts at 4:30pm.

Speaking today, Sergeant Paul Wallace, Donegal Crime Prevention Officer, said large crowds are expected in the town over the weekend.

He added that it has been a busy summer of festivals across the county and, thankfully, all have passed off without any major incidents.
