A number of fines were handed out in the Inishowen area this week following a series of roadside checkpoints.
Gardaí and the Road Safety Authority were in action on Wednesday checking motorists’ documentation and the road worthiness of vehicles.
“A number of road traffic related offences were detected by Gardaí and Fixed Charge Penalty Notices will be issued in respect of them,” a garda spokesperson said.
“We are happy to say that the vast majority of motorists who were stopped were found to have all in order with their vehicles.
“Please continue to make road safety a priority and help save lives.”
