Brighter conditions are on the way as Donegal’s rain warning lifts soon.
Storm Betty brought torrential downpours to Ireland, with flooding seen in parts of the south.
As the storm passes, a status yellow rain alert has been updated for Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo.
The alert is now in effect until 11am.
The public is being urged to watch out for spot flooding on roads, dangerous driving conditions and wave overtopping on coasts.
There will be some relief this afternoon, Met Eireann says: “Brighter conditions with showers will follow, leaving an afternoon and evening of sunny spells and scattered showers. Strong and gusty south to southwest winds in the morning, stronger along exposed coasts, will gradually moderate through the day. Highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees.”
Tonight will be “mostly dry” with clear spells and just a few showers.
