EXCLUSIVE: A Donegal woman who passed away 37 years ago has been offered a hospital appointment this week, causing disbelief among her relatives.
Mrs Mary Hamilton from Drumkeen died almost four decades ago, but by some strange turn of events, it’s claimed that a hospital letter arrived for her on Friday.
Mrs Hamilton’s daughter-in-law, Sheila, says she couldn’t believe her eyes when she read that Mary was requested to attend Killybegs Community Hospital for X-rays on her knees and chest on Tuesday.
Sheila said the letter was even more confusing as it stated Mary’s date of birth as February 28th, 1903, making her a staggering 120 years old.
“If she was alive she would be 107,” Sheila says.
The true reason for the letter is unknown, whether it was an administrative error or otherwise.
Sheila, however, found the appointment so shocking that she had to share it on social media, writing: “Some health system slow but sure.”
