Gym among premises raided by Gardai in drugs swoop in Letterkenny

A gym premises in Letterkenny was one of three properties raided by Gardai as part of a clampdown on illegal drugs.

Gardai swooped on Thursday last as part of an interagency search operation in conjunction with the Health Products Regulatory Authority in Letterkenny.

A total of three properties and two vehicles were searched during the operation.

Gardai have told Donegal Daily the searches were targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs.

We can confirm that €1,100 benzodiazepines, €2,000 steroids/controlled tablets and 14 boxes of cannabis vapes were seized duiring the raids.

All the seized items have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

A Garda spokesperson said “Enquiries are ongoing in relation to this investigation.”
