Gardaí have reiterated their appeal for Donegal motorists to slow down after a driver was detected driving well in excess of the speed limit.
Donegal Town Roads Policing Unit were out conducting early morning speed checks and clocked a vehicle travelling at 140KPH (86 Mph) in a speed zone of 100KPH (62 Mph).
The driver will now have to pay a fine of €160 and will also receive three penalty points.
“Speed kills, and so we continue to urge all drivers to slow down. Save lives – slow down,” a garda spokesperson said.
