There is disappointment amongst the business people and the general public in Donegal Town after the news was confirmed today that the hugely-popular ‘Taste of Donegal’ food festival will not go ahead.
The festival usually attracts thousands of people to the quay area of the town.
However, a post on social media today confirmed the three day event will not be going ahead this year.
Organisers said “A Taste of Donegal Food Festival is not taking place in 2023. Thanks to all those who have supported us over the years.”
It is not yet known why the event will not go ahead but it had been suspected locally the event would not take place at all this year.
The event was huge in 2019 but was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 while a scaled down version took place last year.
The event featured dozens of food stalls as well as some of the country’s top chefs.
It is not known if the event will go ahead in the future.
