Milford Parish Community Games team is set to represent Donegal/Ulster in the National Finals for U15 Girls Outdoor Soccer this weekend.
The team secured their place in the finals after a successful victory against Cavan with a 3-1 win at the Ulster Finals held in July.
The girls and their manager, Sinead Hagan, are thrilled to have made it this far and are eagerly anticipating the upcoming competition in Carlow.
Sinead said: “It’s a great experience for all involved. The girls have trained hard all year round. They compete in the Donegal Women’s League throughout the summer and are doing really well in the top division.”
However, the team was hit with an unfortunate blow on Monday evening when their captain, Erin Neilis, sustained an injury and will be unable to play in the finals.
“We wish her a speedy recovery and she will still be there to support the girls.”
Despite this setback, the team remains optimistic and is determined to give it their all in the upcoming finals.
“We wish the girls and Manager Sinead Hagan and Elaine Neilis the best of luck and enjoy the experience,” said a spokesperson for Donegal Community Games.
