Call for investment after water burst in north west Donegal

Donegal County Councillor John Sheamais Ó Fearraigh has called on Uisce Eireann to do more to stop regular water mains bursts in the Gortahork/Meenaclady areas of west Donegal.

A water outage was reported in Meenaclady last night, affecting several houses.

Uisce Eireann staff were on the scene late last night.

However, Cllr Ó Fearraigh said that more must be done as a preventative rather than a solution.

“Uisce Eireann need to invest in this area regarding the ongoing bursts. Enough is Enough. Náireach ar fád,” he said.

A statement from Uisce Eireann said: ” We are currently investigating reports of a supply disruption to Glaise Chú, Mín an Chladaigh, Gort an Choirce and surrounding areas in Co. Donegal. More information to follow.”
