A whopping 4,484 passengers will arrive in Killybegs this week on board no less than five cruise ships.

In what will be one of the busiest weeks over the summer months, the Donegal harbour will welcome cruise ships from around the world.

The ships include the Riviera, the Marina, the Island Sky, the Silver Dawn and the Azamara.

As well as thousands of passengers, almost 2,500 crew members will accompany the ships into port.

The ships will begin arriving on Tuesday with the last departing on Sunday evening.

Many of the visitors on board the liners will depart the vessels to visit Killybegs and the surrounding areas.

The arrival of the cruise liners in recent years has been a very welcome bonus for the local economy.
