A nurse and GP due to fly to Tory Island have been unable to do so after the scheduled helicopter was grounded due to essential maintenance work.
The helicopter was due to transport the medical team to the island tomorrow (Thursday, 31st of August).
A spokesperson for the HSE said “Unfortunately there is currently no second helicopter available to do this run.
“The HSE is putting interim measures in place.
“The HSE wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused to patients/clients.
“It is envisaged that the helicopter will be operational again by the next scheduled flight on the 14th of September.”
