Donegal Towns favourite Post Man Paddy Mc Crudden at last got his first overall win with Jason Mitchell at last weekend’s Davagh Forest Rally in their VW POLO R5.
Having switched to IN Sport the crew had a busy few weekend’s having done the 2 day Rally & headed straight to Cork with the car changing to Gravel spec in a few hours to do the Jim Walsh Forest Rally.
The recent time having a positive effect in achieving the crews first overall win.
The American Dream
Staying in Donegal Town local rally driver & international co driver Gary Mc Elhinney was stateside last weekend sitting alongside Semaus Burke in his high spec MK2 Escort. Competing in the Ojibwe Forests Rally the crew got off to a great starting leading the 2wd class after Day 1 & 5th overall. Then on Saturday morning on SS10 disaster struck as their car had a fairly heavy sideways impact with a tree with the crew having to get airlifted to hospital.
Like with all bad news it travelled fast around the rally world after the ARA issued a statement on the crash but alas all appeared to end well. Gary flew home on Wednesday a little battered & brusied & Seamus will remain in hospital for a few more days. We wish the crew a speedy recovery.
New Toys for Harris
Convoy’s Jack Harris has made the jump from a J1000 to a Ford Fiesta R2 & Jack hasnt stopped since he got his new car. Jack went straight to the Davagh Forest Rally on Saturday in Gravel spec & this weekend has an entry in for this weekend’s Knockalla Hill Climb.
