The weekend has almost arrived for the Donegal Motor Club’s long-awaited annual Knockalla Hill Climb.
Rally competitors will battle it out for a number of competitions including The Danny Gormley Memorial trophy, The John Lenister Trophy & the new 2 Day Rally Challenge.
Donegal Motorclub has thanked all the local residents, Donegal County Council and the emergency services for once again allowing the club to run the Hillclimb.
The Organisers wish to give a rough guide to the weekend’s plans.
The Knockalla Coast Road will be closed Saturday & Sunday from 8:30am to 6:00pm
Preparations will begin with teams starting to set up the Knockalla Hill from Friday afternoon.
Cars & teams with camper vans will start arriving from Friday evening. Competitors and visitors are reminded to park with consideration as far away as possible from the start line & Paddock area.
There will be scrutiny from 5pm on Friday evening for people who want to get it done early so we can start on time on Saturday.
Friday & Saturdays planned running times are as follows:
– Paddock Opens 7am
– Mechanical & Document Scrutiny 7:15am (Competitors please arrive from the beach side on the bottom of the hill as per regs)
– Road Closed 8:30am
– Marshal Briefing with MI officials 9:15am (Marshal’s please arrive for 8am for set up)
– Drivers Briefing with MI officials 9:30am
– Final Course Inspection 10:00am
– First Car Practice Run 10:30am
– Last timed run 5:30pm
– Road Opens 6pm
Visitor Parking will be in the field like during the Donegal international Rally.
