Glenfin footballer Yvonne Bonner is enjoying a series of unforgettable moments as she makes her debut with the Adelaide Crows in the Australian Rules Football Women’s league.
Yvonne scored two goals today as Adelaide kicked off its premiership push with a 30-point win over rivals Port Adelaide.
The week started off on a high with Yvonne getting the news of her debut in the sweetest form possible.
Yvonne’s toddler Brid was entrusted with the task of delivering the message from Senior coach Matthew Clarke.
In an uplifting video on the Adelaide Crow’s page, little Brid is seen happily hugging her mum before giving her a letter that said: “Dear Mummy, congratulations on making your Crows debut.”
The video was posted to the Adelaide Crows social media with the words: ”There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when these two special announcements were made.”
Bonner made her debut Down Under for the Greater Western Sydney Giants in 2019, kicking seven goals from 11 AFLW appearances, but an ankle injury prematurely ended her 2020 season and she later returned home due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2021, she and her husband, Paul, welcomed daughter, Brid, and she represented Donegal last season.
