The motorist was clocked speeding at 99km/h in a 60km/h Zone on the R267 at Magheracar.

Another driver was doing 77km/h in a 60km/h zone on the R267 at Portnason, Ballyshannon.

Gardaí are continuing a major speed enforcement operation overnight.

In the first 10 hours of National Slow Down Day, GoSafe checked the speed of 103,607 vehicles and detected 250 vehicles breaking the speed limit.

Gardaí continue to appeal to drivers to comply with speed limits in order to reduce the number of speed related collisions, save lives and reduce injuries on our roads.
