The 2023 Big Beach Clean is getting underway this weekend nationwide, with several events taking place in County Donegal.
There are a total of 11 beach cleans taking place this weekend in the county, and over 150 groups taking part nationwide, organised by volunteers and supported by An Taisce’s Clean Coasts initiative.
The main aim is to clean up the country’s beaches, with large amounts of waste and rubbish often being discarded by the end of the Summer bathing season.
The Donegal beach cleans are taking place on Arranmore Island (Aphort), as well as in Ballintra, Buncrana, Culdaff, Glengad, Greencastle Cove (Sweet Nellie’s Beach), Killahoey, Mullaghderg, Narin/Portnoo, Rahan and Rossnowlagh.
