A Mizen Head to Malin Head charity bike ride has set off from County Cork today, in support of a children’s pet charity.
They’re doing the journey to raise funds for Cian’s Kennels, a charity that helps sick children in hospitals stay close to their pets, by providing a pet transport service as well as kennels – allowing sick kids to see their beloved family pets during a hospital stay.
The cycle is making the first leg of their trip today from Mizen Head to Killarney, a 120km stint.
The iDonate fundraiser has already raised over €17,000 of their €40,000 goal.
Their itinerary will see them travel up the west coast, before heading to Athlone and then Sligo – before a pit stop overnight in Letterkenny on Thursday the 21st of September, and finishing the journey towards Malin on Friday the 22nd.
