A Ukrainian & Polish Cultural Day held in Dungloe this summer has helped to fund an ambulance for the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the frontline of the Russian invasion.
The ambulance was driven from Orzesz in Poland to eastern Ukraine this week, along with medical and food supplies for the military and pet food.

The Slavic Fair in Dungloe took place during the Mary from Dungloe International Festival in August. The event was very well supported by sponsors and attracted excellent attendance from people celebrating Slavic traditions through the customs, folklore and arts.
Organisers of the Slavic Fair have issued their thanks to everyone who supported the event and the raffle. Special words of thanks went to Kathleen McGuinness who donated significant amount of medical first aid packs, and to Polish Ambassador to Ireland, Anna Sochańska, who attended on the day.
“Last but not least: thank you to paramedics from 13 Orzesze Grupa Poszukiwawczo-Ratownicza especially Mariusz and Karina who bravely went with another humanitarian mission to Eastern Ukraine. Their dedication and unbreakable spirit is unbelievable!,” organisers said.
