Two valuable industrial generators were stolen over the weekend from the water treatment plant at Lough Mourne.
Gardaí said the burglary occurred at Donegal County Council’s Meencrumlin facility some time between 7pm on Friday and 10am on Saturday.
Entry was gained to the site after the fence was damaged and two industrial generators
were stolen from within, Garda Claire Rafferty said.
“We appeal to anybody who travelled on the Donegal town to Ballybofey road between the above times, and who may have observed any suspicious activity in the area of the Water Treatment Plant, to make contact with Gardaí,” she said.
“Should anybody come across similar items for sale on a second hand basis, we also ask them to alert us.”
