A Donegal man has been jailed in Northern Ireland for engaging in sexual activity with a child.
Dillon McCool, aged 23, appeared recently at Derry Crown Court.
He was charged with sexual activity with a child and possessing indecent and pornographic images of children.
McCool, who is originally from the Annagry area of West Donegal
A PSNI spokesperson confirmed to Donegal Daily that McCool was sentenced to two years.
He will serve one year in prison and nine months on licence.
He will also be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years and will also be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for five years.
Detective Inspector Finlay of the PSNI said: “We would continue to encourage anyone who has experienced any form of sexual abuse or assault to contact Police on 101, or in an emergency call 999. We have specially trained detectives who can help you, no matter when the abuse happened.”
