Woman dies following collision in Moville

A woman in her 50s has died following a crash in Moville this Friday morning.

The crash involving a lorry and a car occurred on the R238 Muff/Moville road, close to Moville Community College, at around 8am this morning.

The woman, who was the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The lorry driver, a male in his 50s, was taken to hospital for assessment.

The section of the road remains closed this afternoon to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Traffic diversions are in  place on the R238 between Redcastle and Moville.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information regarding this incident, particularly any road users with camera footage who were travelling the Muff/Moville road at the time of the incident is asked to contact Buncrana Garda Station on 074 932 0540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
