Donegal County Council will be hosting a series of information events across the county about the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant Scheme, starting next week.
The scheme makes various financial supports available to people who wish to refurbish vacant or derelict properties.
Under the programme, up to €84,000 has been made available for works carried out on buildings that have been vacant or derelict for two or more years, and that are intended to be used as residential or rental properties by the owner.
Also up to €80,000 is available for a “Repair and Lease” scheme, where the vacant property is refurbished back into a suitable condition, and then is leased to Donegal County Council for the provision of social housing.
Members of the public who are interested in the grant scheme can learn more about their eligibility and the grants at a number of information meetings hosted by the council over the next two weeks, beginning this Monday the 25th of September.
