A new memorial has been placed in the Grange estate in Letterkenny in honour of local resident Ann Scanlon.
Ann, who passed away in January 2022, was a remarkable lady who did trojan work for her local community. She volunteered for local groups such as Tidy Towns, St. Eunan’s GAA club and she was the founding Chairperson of the Grange Residents Association.
A special plaque was unveiled and a memorial tree was planted close to Ann’s home on Saturday.
Her son Jonathan, members of the Grange Residents Association and local gardaí were in attendance.
“Ann was involved in so many community and charity based initiatives and she will always be remembered for her deep care for her community and for her kindness. She is missed greatly,” said a spokesperson for Letterkenny garda station.
