Killybegs cruise port is preparing for its largest-ever visitor this week when the Norwegian Getaway docks on Thursday.
The 326m cruise liner has a massive 4,819 passengers, with a guest capacity of 3,963.
The 145,600-tonne ship tops all records at Killybegs’ deep water port. The record was previously broken on the 16th of May this year by the 294 metre long Norwegian Star.
The Norwegian Getaway is one of 18 ships in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet.
It’s currently on a 16-day round-trip of Northern Europe which departed from Southampton on 15th September.
The colourful Norwegian Getaway is the third-last cruise to visit Killybegs during this bumper 2023 season. Twenty-eight cruises bringing an estimated 50,000 crew and passengers were on the itinerary this year.
