Sean MacCumhaills GAA’s annual Family 5K run and Family Fun Day fundraisers are on this week.
Both events will raise funds for the youth development programmes at the club.
The Family 5K is on this Thursday evening, the 28th of September, starting at 7pm, wegistration for the 5K beginning at 5:30pm. The route will start at Drumboe Avenue, and finish at the Sean MacCumhaills clubhouse, with refreshments available upstairs in the clubhouse afterwards.
The Family Fun Day will begin with all of the club’s underage teams taking part in a parade, being led by a local piper from the new underage training grounds at Railway Park going to MacCumhaill Park.
Then there will be plenty of free events at the club for all ages, with live entertainment from 12pm to 3pm on the main stage, as well as an array of events and attractions for everyone. Events will include obstacle races, penalty shoot outs, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, a junior outdoor play area and Lego tent, face painting, and much, much more.
There will also be a refreshments tent, with everything from fabulous home bakes to barbecue food available to sample.
Many local stars will be in attendance with silverware in tow, and you can also enjoy the local market of beautiful crafts, baking, and local produce. You will also be treated to expert advice and hints and tips from some of our local professionals in sports massage, mindfulness, and counselling.
