Friends and family of the late Martin Griffin are invited to come together this November to honour the memory of a true Donegal GAA legend.

The Martin Griffin Memorial Dinner Dance takes place on Friday 3rd November at Jackson’s Hotel Ballybofey.

It will be a night of nostalgia remembering Martin (Big Griff), who was a powerhouse player for Donegal and Sean Mac Cumhaills from the 70s through to the 90s.

The dinner dance marks the second anniversary of Martin’s sudden death at the age of 67. To celebrate his legacy, his family has organised a night of good times that he would have no doubt loved to attend himself.

Guests will be treated to a drinks reception, dinner and an evening of dancing to The Beafsteak Dances. The talented Pat McClean will perform his song ‘Big Man from Dumboe’ and launch a CD of the track that celebrates one of Donegal’s best players. You can listen to the wonderfully crafted tune here.

Funds raised from the event will go to the Martin Griffin Fund launched by Martin’s daughters, Anne Marie and Donna, to support young people in the Twin Towns through sports or education assistance. There will be a raffle with some fantastic prizes and donations will be gratefully accepted on the night.

Limited tickets are available for the dinner dance, so make sure to get yours early. Tickets are €50 and available from Jackson’s Hotel or by messaging the Martin Griffin Fund Facebook page (click here).
