National: Sligo farmer dies 18 months after aggravated burglary

Tom Niland, aged 74, died this morning a year and a half after he suffered serious injuries, following an aggravated burglary at his home.

He spent the last 18 months in the Intensive Care Unit of Sligo University Hospital after the attack in January of 2022.

Three men are due court appearances in relation to the incident in the coming months.
