Donegal Youth Service, a leading youth organisation in Donegal, is proud to announce the launch of its new 3-year strategic plan from 2023-2025.

The plan sets out to offer the best possible outcomes for young people in the region with a mission to engage young people through evidence-based and professional youth work methodologies on a journey of supportive and inclusive learning and personal development where they are valued and supported to be the best they can be.

The strategic plan encompasses four strategic goals focused on supporting young people and their families, retaining active volunteers, building and preserving strong partnerships with key organisations, while maintaining high-quality governance standards that fit the changing needs of young people.

The key strategic goals are:

Supporting young people and their families: The strategic plan aims to engage young people and their families via an integrated service offering a broad range of programs, services, and resources. The goal is to offer the best possible outcomes for young people across Donegal.

Supporting volunteers: Donegal Youth Service recognises the importance of its volunteers in delivering effective services to young people. Thus, there is an emphasis on creating a supportive environment with programs that attract, retain, and motivate volunteers to positively contribute to the organisation’s work.

Supportive Partnerships: The success of Donegal Youth Service relies significantly on quality partnerships with private and public-sector organisations and community groups. The plan outlines the establishment of robust partnerships focused on improving the provision of services and opportunities to young people in Donegal.

Quality Governance: With ambitious goals come the need for high-quality governance to ensure the day-to-day management and decision-making of the organisation align with the strategic plan’s overarching objectives. The strategic objective involves developing a responsive framework for the organisation aligned with its mission and values.

It is our priority to attract, retain, and motivate our volunteers to ensure the youth service is well equipped to offer the best possible services and opportunities. We are committed to forging new partnerships to improve outcomes for our young people while maintaining our high governance standards.”
