A bag of cannabis was tossed out of a car in Letterkenny yesterday as a suspected drug driver tried to evade gardaí.
Gardaí from the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit attempted to stop a motorist who was committing a number of road safety offences on Sunday.
During the pursuit, the driver threw a package from their car.
Gardaí eventually stopped the driver and the abandoned package was recovered. Approx. €1,100 worth of suspected cannabis was seized.
“The driver who was believed to be using a mobile phone while driving and not wearing their seatbelt was arrested on suspicion of drug driving,” said a garda spokesperson.
