The Killybegs Coast Guard, Rescue 118 helicopter crew and paramedics were in action during two emergencies in the south Donegal region yesterday.
The first call-out was in response to a hiker who had fallen while hiking up the Pilgrims Path at Slieve League. The Killybegs Coast Guard were tasked to the area before 3pm by Malin Head Coast Guard.
The team made their way to the casualty, administered first aid and transported the person to an awaiting ambulance by stretcher. Rescue 118 were also on the scene.
“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery,” a spokesperson said.
Later on Tuesday night, the unit was called into action again when a fisherman suffered a medical emergency on a fishing vessel. Killybegs Coast Guard were tasked at 11pm to assist with the transfer of the man to a waiting ambulance at the shore.
