An application to have two large wind turbines erected in Buncrana has been refused by Donegal County Council.
A planning application had been lodged for two wind turbines by Fahan Wind Limited.
The application was to see the construction of two wind turbines comprising of a steel tower and rotor blades with a hub height of up to 85 metres and a rotor blade diameter of 82 metres.
This would have meant a blade tip height of up to 126 metres.
The proposed development also included external wind turbine transformers, turbine hardstands, new access tracks, a new site entrance, etc.
The application for the turbines at Upper Illies, Buncrana, which was received on August 17th this year has been refused by Donegal County Council.
