Could a Donegal shopper be Monaghan’s newest millionaire?

The race is on to find a lucky punter who bought an unclaimed million-euro-winning ticket in Monaghan.

The Lotto Plus Raffle ticket, worth a life-changing €1,000,500, was bought in Emyvale on Thursday 17th August.

The town is a popular pit stop for Donegal and Derry travellers en route to Dublin, so there is a chance that the winner could be from outside Monaghan.

The National Lottery is appealing to Lotto players to check their tickets before the deadline for claims runs out on Friday 17th November.

The life-changing amount was won in the Lotto Plus Raffle which typically sees between 60 and 120 winners of €500 in every draw but in that particular draw, one player enjoyed an even higher windfall due to a special Raffle event.

Each of the tickets with the winning Lotto Plus Raffle number drawn in the Saturday 19th August draw were entered into a once-off random draw where one ticket was selected to win an additional prize of €1 million. While every ticket holder who had the winning Raffle number won €500, one player has won €1 million, in addition to the usual €500 prize.

The winning Raffle number for the 19th August draw was: 3249

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We are eager to hear from a Lotto player in Monaghan who has a ticket worth €1,000,500 which they are yet to claim! The Drumlin County player purchased their ticket on Thursday 17th August at the Centra store on the Main Street in Emyvale for the 19th August draw.

“We are hoping that this may sound familiar to a player out there and that they come forward soon to claim their life-changing prize. As with all of our games, ticketholders have 90 days from the draw date to claim their prize which means that the winner has just over four weeks left as the claim deadline is close of business on Friday 17th November.”

“The winner is advised to make contact with our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to come to Lotto HQ and claim their €1 million prize.”
