If you’re looking for a ‘cool’ thing to do this weekend, why not brave a dip for a good cause?

The National Breast Cancer Research Institute in association with Blackrock Swimwear is calling on as many people as possible to ‘Swim in Pink’ during October, breast cancer awareness month and help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research.

The fun and friendly gatherings invite people to go positively pink for a refreshingly cool dip.

Several events are taking place around Donegal this Sunday:

  • Marble Hill: 10.30am, 22nd October
  • Neds Point Buncrana, 12noon, 22nd October (Donate here)
  • Rossnowlagh: 10am, 22nd October
  • Leenan Beach, 1pm, 22nd October (Organised by Toland’s Bar)

(Other events may be taking place locally, please check your local open water swimmer pages for details. Swim in Pink Portsalon takes place on 30th October.)

So grab a friend, make up a flask, wear warm pink clothes and swimwear and embrace the atmosphere!

It is just €25 to register for this feel-good event. All proceeds will go to the National Breast Cancer Research Institute. And as a bonus, participants will also receive a free “Swim in Pink” swimming cap.

It is an opportunity for people to dip, swim or splash for a good cause and support breast cancer research.

1 in 7 women Irish women will develop breast cancer before they reach 75, with over 3,500 cases diagnosed annually.

In its third year, the event has been an enormous success and raised over €44,000 nationwide and it’s hoped that even more will be raised this year.

To register go to www.swiminpink.ie and you will receive a FREE ‘Swim in Pink’ swimming cap.
