The Arranmore RNLI volunteer crew has had a busy few days responding to three calls for medical evacuations from the island.
The crew responded to calls for assistance, on Friday 20th October and again on Monday morning. They were called for a third time yesterday, Tuesday.
Patients requiring medical assessment are transported by lifeboat to Burtonport where they are met by ambulance for transfer to Letterkenny University Hospital.
Arranmore RNLI coxswain Jimmy Early said: “We are really pleased to be able to provide this vital service to the community, our colleagues in the Coast Guard also assist in medical evacuations and this is an invaluable service to the people of Arranmore and the surrounding islands who are in need of medical assistance.”
