Figures from the INMO’s trolleywatch show that Letterkenny University Hospital was the fourth-most overcrowded hospital in the state in the month of September.

A total of 580 patients were left without a bed in LUH last month, as the overcrowding crisis continues.

That was the fourth highest overcrowding rate in the country, only behind University Hospital Limerick, Cork University Hospital and Sligo University Hospital.

Sligo had 775 patients on trollies for the month of September, making for a North West total of 1,355 patients left without a bed last month.
