Armed Gardai have set-up a checkpoint at Lifford Bridge.
Officers are checking vehicles as part of an undisclosed operation.
A number of vehicles have been stopped and Gardai have checked the vehicles.
When contacted by Donegal Daily, a spokesperson for the Garda Press office said “An Garda Síochána does not comment on specific checkpoints or ongoing operations.”
However, the spokesperson said An Garda Síochána is today operating a number of checkpoints around the country in relation to our Bank Holiday Road Safety.
