Gardaí say investigations are ongoing this afternoon, after a fire raged through a derelict building in Donegal Town last night.

A fire started at the currently unoccpied former site of the Timony’s factory in the town yesterday evening.

While the fire service was able to extinguish the blaze, extensive damage has been done to the building’s interior.

Gardaí say they’re investigating it as a case of potential criminal damage by fire, and that the scene has been preserved for a technical analysis to take place.
