Gardaí investigating a serious Halloween night assault on a 14-year-old boy in Sligo town have made two further arrests.

Two male juveniles, both aged in their teens, were arrested yesterday evening and are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a garda station in Sligo.

The male juvenile, aged also in his teens, who was arrested earlier today remains in garda custody.

The boy who was injured is currently being treated for his injuries at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Anyone with video footage of the incident are asked to make it available to gardaí as are any road users with camera footage, including dashcam, who were travelling on the Mail Coach road between 6.45pm and 7.15pm on Tuesday.
