Father and daughter call on illegal dumpers to clean up their act

A Coolboy man and his daughter are taking a stand against littering in their local community after discovering a huge amount of dumped waste today.

Kevin Doherty and his daughter Kayla are part of the local volunteer community clean-up project.

They spend their weekends picking up rubbish along the roads in their local area. Unfortunately, their latest findings were even more disgusting than usual.

Rubbish found in Coolboy

Kevin said it wasn’t fair that Kayla, who is only 11 years old, should spend the last day of her Halloween holidays picking up after people who dumped multiple bin bags filled with nappies and takeaway wrappers at the side of the road.

She and her father find a lot of bottles and cans during their usual clean-ups, but this incident was especially disheartening.

Kayla said, “We hope these people do not do this again.”

Kevin and Kayla are urging everyone to take responsibility for their own rubbish and dispose of it properly.
