A Swedish Discovery Channel documentary on Donegal soccer clubs has clocked up millions of views online to date.
Leriga Rötter (muddy roots in English), currently running on Discovery+ Sport, recorded a lot of colourful characters, and language, in some of the most scenic locations around the county.
The series’ blurb reads: “Welcome to Europe’s backyard, far from top modern football.”
Needless to say, the Donegal episodes are accompanied by Swedish subtitles, even though the Scandinavians are very adept at English!
