Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to a suspected arson attack on a derelict building in Donegal town on Halloween Night.

The incident occurred at Miltown, on Tuesday October 31st at around 8.45pm.

Gardaí were alerted to the fact that a derelict factory was on fire at that location. The fire services attended the scene and extinguished the fire, but there was extensive damage caused to the interior of the building in the blaze. It is believed that the fire may have started between 8pm and 8.45pm and that it may have been started maliciously.

“We appeal to anybody who was in that area between those times and who had a dash cam to make the footage available to Gardaí,” Garda Sergeant Eunan Walsh said.

Anybody who may have any relevant information should contact Gardaí in Ballyshannon on 071-9858530 or to contact the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.
