Drop in number of people on live register in Donegal

The number of jobseekers in Donegal is down 4% in the past year, new figures show.

The CSO reports that 9,030 people in Donegal are currently on the Live Register.

The figure is down from 9,169 last month, and from 9,414 in October last year.

Almost 900 jobseekers in Donegal are aged under 25.

Nationally, the number of Jobseeker’s Benefit claims decreased by 4,781 (11.5%) in October 2023 compared with 12 months earlier.

The Live Register figures for October 2023 decreased by 1.8% to 175,500. This includes 22,162 people from Ukraine benefitting from the EU’s Temporary Protection Directive (TPD).
