Progress has been confirmed on two Donegal school extension and refurbishment projects.
Scoil Eoghain in Moville and Cranford National School have had their applications approved to proceed to tender under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme.
Under the programme, Scoil Eoghain in Moville will get one new mainstream classroom and one special education teacher support room, while Cranford National School is to get a new mainstream classroom.
Reacting to the development, the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue said: “I welcome the announcement of my cabinet colleague, Minister Norma Foley, of the investment in two Donegal school projects and thank her for her ongoing commitment to school investment in the county.
“The extension to the schools in Moville and Cranford will be a huge help for the school communities and will assist the school offerings in both areas.
“I commend the efforts of the school principals, staff, boards of management, and parents for their work to date with these projects,” Minister McConalogue added.
