There it Was, Gone
The Golden Grill nightclub is finally no more. The walls are down and the dance floors that hold so many memories are reduced to dust.
A photo of the site today by Gerry McWilliams shows how little there is left of the building.
If the walls in Letterkenny’s Golden Grill could talk, there’d be a lot of stories told!
In its heyday, the Grill attracted thousands of people each week. Each generation will have different memories of the club, from Bella’s and the Millionaire Club to Bar Rouge and Oceans.

Planning for the demolition of the Grill on the Port Road was granted in the name of John Barry in 2021.
Since May of this year, the building has been coming down slowly and steadily.
Owned and successfully run by the late Fianna Fail Senator Bernard McGlinchey, the Grill was then bought by the well-known Tinney Family in 2008.
