Top seeds and current Donegal International Rally champions Callum Devine and co-driver Noel O Sullivan made it a Donegal double in 2023 with victory in the Mini Stages in west Donegal today in their VW Polo GTI R5.
The winners were fastest over the opening three stages to establish a good lead but after losing some time over Stage 4 and seeing Stage 5 cancelled they took a just over 7 second lead into the sixth and final stage.
But that proved enough to hold off the chasers and Devine and O Sullivan were able to claim and enjoy other Donegal victory.
Eamonn Kelly and Conor Mohan took the runners-up spot with Dessie Henry and Paddy Robinson were third just ahead of Declan Boyle and John McCafferty in fourth with the other Boyle/McCafferty crew of Michael Boyle and Dermot McCafferty making up the top five.
In the Modified section victory went to Declan Gallagher and Gavin Doherty with Mark Alcorn and Domhnall McAlaney in second place and Kevin Gallagher and co-driver Ryan Moore making up the top three.
