Four Paws Kennels in Kilmacrennan got their paws on the prize of best kennels in Ireland at the esteemed Local Pet Awards.

Established in 2008 by Jacqui Fegan, the business started with just three pens. Four Paws Kennels has consistently expanded and enhanced its services year after year. Catering to both dogs and cats during owners’ holidays, work commitments, and family occasions, Four Paws Kennels stands out for its exceptional care and personalised attention to each furry guest.

During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Four Paws Kennels extended a helping hand to the community, offering free daycare to hospital workers. This act of kindness blossomed into an ongoing service, further solidifying the bond between Four Paws and its patrons. The kennels and cattery are proudly approved by the Irish Boarding Kennels and Cattery Association (IBKCA), exemplifying their adherence to the highest standards of care and professionalism.

The ‘Kennels of the Year’ recognition stands as a testament to Jacqui’s unwavering dedication and commitment to providing exceptional care for pets in Donegal and beyond.

Jacqui Fegan, the proud owner of Four Paws, expressed overwhelming joy and gratitude upon receiving this prestigious accolade. “I am absolutely buzzing and still in total shock. We were up against the whole of Ireland, competing with much larger businesses. I am incredibly grateful to all my customers, friends, and family; they have been the driving force behind my journey.”

The Local Pet Awards, an event celebrating the unsung heroes of the local pet industry, commends the tireless efforts of individuals and businesses safeguarding the well-being, comfort, and happiness of our beloved pets.

Shauna Lafferty from Dunkineely won Newcomer of the Year for her business, Ruff ‘n Ready Dog Grooming.
