The Letterkenny branch of AIB remained closed today.

A notice on the front door of the premises on Main Street apologised to customers for the sudden closure.

It also advised customers that the nearest branch was in Ballybofey.

Donegal Daily contacted the press office at AIB in an effort to find out the reason for the closure.

A spokesperson confirmed the branch closed as a result of a “technical issue” but did not elaborate on the reason for the closure.

It is understood the bank will reopen tomorrow.
