Gardaí have made a direct appeal to the driver of a van involved in a hit-and-run incident in west Donegal last week.

They are investigating the collision that occurred on Thursday November 9th shortly after 10pm at Meenacladdy, Gortahork.

A driver of a car was travelling from Meenacladdy towards Bunbeg when their vehicle was struck by an oncoming van on a narrow road. The vehicle in question is described as being a small white van. The driver of the van did not stop at the scene. Thankfully the driver of the car was not injured.

“We appeal to anybody who may have travelled in that general area around that time and who had a dash cam to make the footage available to Gardaí,” Garda Claire Rafferty said.

“CCTV will be sought from other areas in an effort to establish the identity of the other driver and so we also appeal to them directly to contact Gardaí in Milford on 0749153060. Anyone with information can also contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111.”
